Centered in the Mid-Atlantic region, the Maryland Line Field Music comprises some of the best Revolutionary War and Civil War reenacting musicians in the world, dedicated to recreating the look and sound of America's fighting musicians, the enlisted men who provided the thrilling martial music that inspired American soldiers throughout the 18th and 19th centuries.
Using original and reproduction rope tension snare drums, bass drums, bugles and fifes, they play the exact same camp duty beats, battle command signals and martial airs that were heard every day in the camps and fortresses, on long dusty marches, and on every battlefield where Americans fought, such as Bunker Hill, Yorktown, New Orleans, The Alamo, Chapultepec, Manassas and Appomattox.
Some of our members have been involved in the fife and drum and reenacting communities for as long as thirty years, and have served as actors and technical advisors for films such as Glory, Gettysburg, Gods & Generals and Wicked Spring, and TV productions for the History Channel.
